mmmm chromy sounds nice.. but thats besides the point.. i duno if it would look all that good in most people's cases.. mine would look like crap with chrome.. lol umm.. About the paint: a guy told me any rust-oleum or Krylon would work.. use a clear coat over it.. plenty of clear coat ... i've never used regular spraypaint clearcoat so i duno how well it holds up to fingerprints, smudges etc.. i have bad luck painting so i'm still on the hunt to find the *best* paints/techniques for the inside of my case | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Im all about the rustolum. I tryed one of there matte clear coats and it was chitty but it could have been an old can too (or my retardation but probly the can my friend tryed it too and hes much less retarded ). But my friend has used there regular gloss clear coat and was good. If you us the matte rustolum lemme know how it comes out. | ||

| I saw a site a few months ago that the guy had powder coated his case frame, at home, in the oven. Call around to paint shops in your area and see if they have powder coating supplies. It is very durable, unless you try to scratch it, and it will stay looking good for a long time. You will have to take off ALL plastic parts, and switches, and you need an oven big enough to put your case in. Also, the color of the powder isn't the same as the color after you take it out of the oven, look at the sample disks (they should have a wide assortment of colors). | ||

| Hmm, I dunno about powdercoating in your own oven, I think you need THOUSANDS of degrees for that, not a couple hundred. For painting, I used Tremclad (Canadian brand, seems basically the same as Rustoleum, just sold in Canada with the brand name Tremclad). I didn't even use a clear-coat after painting on 3 or 4 coats of it, it already dries very glossy and tough. | ||

| Coelacanth, most powder coats bake between 400-600F. Aluminum starts to melt at 1220F. As long as you have low melting point powder, it can be done at home. It may be overkill for a beginner, and most cant afford to test on their only case, but with some practice with smaller pieces, it is possible to get a great looking and super durable finish. | ||

| You're right, I was a bit high with my temps. However, I did some research on home powdercoating kits, and it turns out it would probably cost a lot more to buy the kit and do all of it yourself than to just take it to a powdercoating place and have it done properly, the first time. | ||
