| How well will bondo work for a metal to metal application? I've used it for plastics with great results but I have something with metal I want to do and I'd rather just use some of the whole freaking tub of that stuff rather than go out and buy something else. | ||

| Bondos primary purpose is patch work, or filler. As far as using it as a adhesive to bond to pieces of metal together permanately, i highly doubt your going to see very good results that will last for very long even if it does work. Sorry man but your best bet is JB Weld imo. If you want to test your theory put a piece of mixed bondo down on a piece of metal and let it dry. An hour later go back and put a little force on it with your index finger and i gaurantee that the bondo will pop right off. JB Weld is cheap man and is sold everywhere, even walmart i think, go with the right tools for the job and youll never go wrong. Good Luck! BTW if you do descide to use bondo and get it to work well enough take some pics so we can see your technique. | ||

| Sparky is right Bondo will not adhere metal well unless the two pieces are very rough so the bondo will have something to stick to, like concrete rough. Body filler does not really adhere all that well in its normal application on cars when prepped with 40 grit, thats why it usually falls out eventually down the road half the time. JB weld is a good choice,I personally like the putty type rather than the regular "gel" type. | ||

| and thats comin from a paint pimp. I still kinda hope you do use the bondo, cause id like to see a picture if it works. Keep in mind what luna said though, pretty much all that holds bondo to a surface is what it fills or conforms to. I guess what you could do is take some chunks out of the metal which a cutting torch, and or your dremel. I bet it would hold then. | ||

| Im not familiar eith bondo, goop or any of the US brands, but epoxy had worked for me before on a metal to metal application, but again this was small scale. the bondo stuff sounds, good but as stated it needs a rough surface to 'grip' like most heavy adhesives. Personally id take a soldering iron to the lot (just because that hasnt been mentioned yet ) | ||
