Hi,

I modded this case not too long ago, its just hasn't been finished....

I would like some ideas that i could do to this case ( that dont go over £30 )

In Case 1 Pic you cannot see the 120mm "blowhole" i added.

CASE 2
This is the case im currently using to run my rig.


Any Suggestions On What Case Looks Best, Or What I Could Do To Make Them Better.

i think you should definitely paint case 1. it looks so plain so far. also you are going to smooth out those holes right? right? anyways, you could add some leds or some cool fan grills. i think those would look cool. off the top of my head that's all i can think of. looks like a good start though

as for colors that's up to you and your style. personally i LOVE things that are either silver and/or black and are wicked shiny
as for grills that's also your call. i think you should obviously go with somethin that fits the theme of your case. i've actually wanted to try making my own grills by cutting and drilling some plexi designs. if you want to go ahead and try that be my guest, just remember to post back on your experience in it.

one more thing i forgot to mention. if you paint the front then you may want to think about stealthing the drives or painting the driver covers too. that way everything matches. but on the other hand if your theme is a kind of picasso thing then by all means go crazy. after all, a mod is supposed to suit who you are

Hmmmm..

I was thinking of a " black " front but i cant picture myself what would look better ( normal black, or shiny black )

I was also going for a "blue" theme ( like LED's, CCFL'S ETC )


Although ive got second thoughts for turning the whole case "black", but i might need some idea to make it that little bit better, rahter than PLAIN black...

I say you need to paint the front panel, Definitely fix the hole in front and file the hole on top, stealth some drives, give it a window if it hasn't got one (can't tell from the pic, but Im assuming no), and maybe get some EL wire in there to make a nice little outline. if you have a dremel, you can cut a kickass window and just use EL tracing for the lighting inside. Subtle, but effective.

Oh, and paint that mofo, maybe black with a nice rip (a la the ricer scene) in the color of the El wire...

damn, now I've got a mod idea!

How about some pneumatic doors on both sides of the case, and with the flip of a switch they both pop up and off flys your pc........ok ok maybe not fly away but it would definately be original.

Yeh I Think Im Gonna Take Your Idea, The only problem is i dont want a Plain Window
( Rectangle, Square ) I want erm i duno but kinda good window,
any IDEAS for a window design ?? Also if you can, show me a picture of what u suggested ( a la the ricer scene ) .

Btw, what you think a case would look like all " chrome " ??
Also, would the plastic nearly be the same colour as the metal/aluminium ? coz i dnt want it non matchin if i do spray it black....

If your planning on using chrome rattle can it would look like crap cause that stuff sucks, and if for some crazy reason you got everything but your bezel chromed for real (dipped) it would look sweet but a waste of cash imo.

assuming you used the same paint brand/color, the plastic and metal should look the same. I'd recommend against using vinyl dye for the plastic if you're painting the same colors, because they don't shine in quite the same way. That said, a window could be in any shape, unless you're gasketing it, then it has to be some sort of cornerless shape. all you need is a good hand with a jigsaw and dremel and you can cut pretty much anything.

Ya But I aint got no ideas on a shape

if you want a ricer theme then why not paint, cut, and hinge the side as if it were a car door? for the window cut out the shape of a window on the door, then paint a handle and decals or whatever. then use a hinge to hold the side in place

Hmmmm.....

Im going to be painting it ALL black (except the window im going to be putting in ) and then adding some nice White/Blue LED's for the lights @ the front.

Also, would it give me a good finish ( not looking for anything shiny ) if i just used spray paint on the whole case... and then used Vinyl die for the plastic ?

how about making your own stained glass? It has been done but not often and it always stands out. (for better or worse)

what products would i need to use to ake my case look like a (antec sonata) in colour. Ive sanded it down ( as u can see in picture provided @ first post. (case1) )
and now i dont want a "mirror" finish, just something that is nice and black

Also some suggestions on what i'd need for the plastic too....

no one know the products ??
