| ok i have an idea for making a really cool cover, except i dont know where to begin. i want to do this with the full tower i just got, and im really excited over the idea. the plans are for 2 panels, but it could work with one. let me know what the most feasable way of doing this would be. thanks | ||

| Looks like a cool idea so far. You might want to use 4 arms on each panel to keep things moving parallel with the case front though. From there I'm thinkin some type of motor to rotate the bezel end of 1-2 arms of each panel maybe. [Edit] Bah...Mr. Quickdraw up there...lol | ||

| Senor Cisner-Hoes | Well... you could do something similar to this... Aero Where you have a force going perpendicular to the direction you want the doors to slide. Using a slightly bent/curved piece of material it would force the doors to open.... Possibly try something using springs. That might work well... Brandon Cisneros that thread I linked to is amazing. I think the guy must be a jeweler (the braid on his cables is a braid used for silver chain)Last edited by Gamma_Goblin; 02-April-04 at 10:19 PM.. Reason: bad url tag | |

| Yeah, I thought about doing that as well, the last design is the only way that would be cool or make sense. But even then, a company just came out with it and there's is pretty awesome. Just a plexiglass door that retracts into the front of the case on a motor and uncovers the drive bays. Can't remember who it is.... i'll take a look around and see if I can remember the name of the company. very impractical thing to do though by yourself - esepecially since actually stealthing the drives would look much much better. (and I don't mean the ****ty stealthing taht most people do) | ||

| here is one of them: http://www.overclockercafe.com/Revie...kyhawk_Matrix/ pretty cool - however, when the door is open the unused bays look like ****. | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | ok i know bolax about computers but i know my diy. have the screen on draw runner (yes i know u thought of that ) but hears the stupidly theriretical (blaa) ti. at the back of the case attack to of those big springy thing for wind up clocks get the tention tight so it can not be taken any tighter and attach some wire from them to the hatch (or wat eva) that way it should do one of 2 things 1 rest its self in to place when shut or one when catch is released . i dunno if any one got that or just to busy rolling of the floor laughting at me but here are some scribbles | |

| hmmm i actually find that idea quite interesting. but instead of a single solid panel, what if it were maybe 20 smaller ones, and they would roll over that one gear and retract into the case? kind of like a garage door. it might also be easier to implement than my ideas. | ||
