got my full tower

well i finally got a full tower, so now i want to rip it apart and turn it into something crazy! it came with a psu, so im considering doing a dual psu setup, 1 for the water cooling and 1 for the system. either way, its got tons of space, and those holes on the side are l337 ventilation holes!

anyways, i plan on doing watercooling and lights and the like, but i want to do something unique too, i was thinking i would make a bubbler out of plexi(think sharper image) and put that on the front. anyways, heres the case, ill be workin on it as soon as im done with turbine.

edit: anyone have a good link or guide on making suicide doors?

WHOA that's pimpin, nice rig, looks a little taller than my AT server towers, I know a thing or two about case doors, I made one on Short Circuit and I have some experience with doors on my AT server tower, as well as some ideas for a door on that case.

so i took it apart and found that this thing is a BEAST. theres tons of space for a rad/core and the mobo tray folds out the back. and the psu is in perfect condition and quiet as hell too. i got another pic too

I know that case. Go in the gallery and look at Midnight Blue. I used that same case and had a suicide door on it.

I've been working with the same case lately.

Plenty of room to do pretty much anything you could want to do, and then some...lol

I inherited Big Akitas Midnight Blue case, and have been working on its rebirth for awhile now. I really need to start a thread on the project someday.

Heres a pic of the gallery submission when BA had it.

Couple of ideas to do before you get too deep are to cut an opening in the mobo tray to give access to the HS and N/B mounts.
I also cut some square holes on the backside (mobo side) of the drive cages to route wires thru hidden.

i got it for 15 bucks on ebay cuz it was a local pickup auction.

its hard to see the details of those suicide doors, got any better pics?

dimazz, im not gonna sell the psu cuz im considering doing a dual-psu setup and maybe a water cooled peltier. but i do have a couple other atx psus that are around 250w. let me know

Its a Foxconn (Hon Hai) full-tower as far as I know. Was that $15 used?

BA had drilled the rear chassis and door to bolt small hinges to. You could also use a piano hinge that would make for one continuos hinge from top to bottom.

thats a pretty sweet idea with the hinges, ill make sure to work something out. i think im gonna try and do it kinda industrial jules verne meets the matrix style, so hinges and gears might work out nice. maybe ill make the door hydraulic.

My idea for the suicide door wasn't intentional, but it worked out nicely. My execution was less than stellar, but it worked (somewhat). I tried to fit a piano hinge but got impatient.

Jinx, it's nice to see that you are still playing with the case. It brings on waves of nostalgia.
