"Cheap" & modding don't go together in my experience

Paint, windows, rounded cables, pretty fans, lighting, led replacement, PSU sleeving are not that expensive when considered individually, but they really add up when you consider them together, especially if you have to buy tools ....

Spending some time thinking about a decent theme, then doing one thing at a time is the best I can come up with

Take a look at http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....threadid=12126 & http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....threadid=12142 ... I have submitted a better/more complete article, no idea when that'll appear though.

cheap mods-
blowhole: if you have tools it's the cost of a fan (most fans come with some sort of grill).
Window: if you have some sort of adhesive (or H moulding) and tools, it's the cost of a sheet of plexi.
Rounded cables: price of a razor knife and electrical tape

You can get some cheap shrink wrap at Radio Shack, or Frys. When rounding your cables cut about every 5th wire and seperate it from the bunch. Then just wrap it up in your electrical tape. Also you might wanna look into something else besides electrical tape cause it looks like crap. You could also use split loom.

you could stelth your drives, cost of dbl sided tape.

or you could take a sharpy to part of it (tribal, flames, etc), say what you can see through a window, cheaper nad easier than paint and its easy to change once you can afforde to do a good paint job

Best looking mod on a "cheap" budget in my opinion is some paint. Spend a few bucks on some Dupli-Color and give your case a good looking paint job. More work involved here but it is definitely worth it. Modding is really an addiction. Once you start you cant seem to stop. New ideas are always going through your mind. With that comes tools. They can get expensive. Save up a few bucks and invest in a dremel. It is in my opinion the best all around tool a modder can have. It also helps to have a good work area. You can build a simple workbench for under 50 bucks and your local h/w store, lowes, home depot etc. can make all your wood cuts for you.

Addicted to modding...you bet I am.

As DM alludes to: The first rig ever posted in PimpRig's galleries (I believe). The design was done using a blue Sharpie and GK's creativity. Now, paint would give a better up-close finish, but it just goes to show that imagination's more important than $$$ when it comes to originality in modding.

I gave mine the "wife beater" look for a cheap mod...... didn't cost me a thing.

Don't think about this one too hard, folks...... you may strain something.

Well I just saw a cheap case mod on another site....a guy wrapped all of his PSU wires in tin foil.

I would NOT recommend this
