| I've been interested in computer modding for a few years now but i haven't done much actual modding. i bought a lian li case to mod a while back but it never got very far (money problems). i got a dell donated to me a few months ago and started modding it right away. first i changed the LEDs to red and blue. later i cut out the dell logo on the front and put a piece of mesh in the opening. my latest mod was painting the front bezel and cdrw faceplate with krylon fusion. i also sanded off the logos on the cdrw. as you can see in the 2nd pic i did mess up in one spot (forgot to mask). anyone have any ideas on how to get that paint off without messing up the texture? | ||

| Hmmmm...Only thing I could think of would be paint remover. But that would most likely ruin that whole spot. Sanding lightly just to get the top coat off might help and would maybe keep the paint underneath, but you would loose the texture probably. Maybe this is just a sign to paint the rest of the case? ![]() As for that lian-li, whats happening to that? Im in need of a removable mobo tray if it happens to have one and you arent using it. ![]() | ||

| My parents have a Dimension 4500 and it's just begging for a window kit, it's already out of warranty (like a warranty will stop me from cuttin' open a Dell) I have an Optiplex GX200, P3 1 gig and 256MB RDRAM, I love it!! im going to paint it black and blue like the newer ones anyway my best suggestion is what they use to remove paint on cars, I think Eagle One makes it and you can get it at AutoZone but it might be too strong. | ||

| If im not wrong i think that the paint he used (Krylon Fusion) works the same as vynil dye and in a sense soaks into the plastic. I dont know if light sanding or acetone are gonna save you now. Im sure insom or Luna might know something though. Wait, you could always soak it in Lye....hehe jk. | ||

| Direct Cool Hoe | looking good there Chairman... get you some rubbing compound and a towel and hand rub the spot, the paint isnt that old, so you can probably rub it off... I got some Krylon fusion here I'll see if that works, It'll be dry by the AM and I'll rub it and see...hold on and I'll do the test for ya... ![]() Last edited by ZENNZZO; 29-March-04 at 03:41 AM.. | |

| I like the look of it!!! For a second I though it was their new gaming machine. Nice job!!! As for the paint, just go get yourself some black krylon fusion and paint the whole piece that that blue spot is on. You will probobly be able to notice but if you do the whole thing, just say its supose to be like that if someone asks ![]() | ||

Good choice bro, cause that Fusion is just that fusion and it bites into the plastic past the point of rubbing...good Luck... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
