.::Work Log::. Project Green Bling

[edit]just changed the name. anyway, you all remember what my case looked like before

and when i got ready to mod, i got some great suggestions from this thread. and now, i have finally done a [drum roll] mod! i got 4 more green led fans today, and replaced all fans other than my coolermaster xdream with them. the mod part would be swapping my 350watt psu's fan w/ a green one. i will post pics tomorow, b/c i cant find my webcam and dont have a digital camera.

TO DO LIST:
10x14 case window, etched to match front vents
borrow/steal a friends dremel and make the front "vents" actually open, instead of solid.
clean up the rat nest inside

This is the same case you posted earlier, is it not? The one I suggested the "alien" theme for?? Looks like you canned that idea but I'm still excited to see your progress.

ok. picture one is a wide shot. picture 2 is a closer shot of my insides. picture 3 is of my *pimp* psu mod. i had to use scissors and brute strength to remove the old fan grill since i dont have access to a dremel.

lol this is too funny...after 6 months of looking for an appropriately 'plain-jane' case to start modding, I just started my own project log (Project: BADWORD!!!) based on the exact same case!

Don't worry though...I think our cases will both come out quite differently!

im so p*ssed. the teacher has been busy doing other things for god knows how long. i wasted 2 hours waiting for him, and nothing. everytime we have a tech club meeting he's doing something else. my parents spent $30 so i could have an after school study hall. great. next chance is thursday, but im not holding my breath. if this doesnt work, its premod time, since i dont have tools.

ok, here it is w/ its sexy window and fan controller. next comes cleaning up the wires, some edging to clean up the window and then, something major.

Are you goin to paint it? And clean those wires? Also the fanbus you should paint it green, the buttons. This your first mod?

Anyways, if it is, good job. Get your hands on a better cam too

ADD :: Just noticed that that fanbus is very unusual, how exactly does it work? DOes the pot iin the middle control the 4 switches on the sides? Im taking it its, switches on off for the fans and the pot for speed on all 4 switches. Be careful to not overload that thing, ive melted a resistor down by puttin to many watts through it. Not pretty, smoke and smell and yuk. Just be careful to not overload it.

yes, very first mod. thank you. the pot in the middle is for my coolermaster xdream, which adjusts the cpu fan speed. it comes on a pci slot cover, but i moved it up to the front.
