| I have three identical desktop cases that I had planned to make one big g-honkin case full of iomega stuff like jaz drives, zip drives, bernoulli drives, etc. That's no longer the plan but it did get me thinking about joining the frames together then building a custom shroud and front bezel I have no welding gear, but have had some small success with a product Paul Harvey shills for called JB Weld. It's a two-part metal epoxy as best I can tell from the label. If you were to lap the sides of your ATX cases, then JBWeld them, I bet that would work. BUT AS I HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY DONE THIS, it's only theorhetical advice. Go to a good hardware store and ask for JBWeld - it's prolly with the Elmer's Carpenters Glue and do some reading. Hope this helps -MF | ||

| There are of course, many ways to fuse two cases together. Pop rivets will be fairly strong....JB Weld actually works ok...providing that the mating surfaces are EXTREMELY clean to begin with. I assume you are talking aluminum. If the cases are both steel, you can take them to a local metal fab shop and have them TIG welded. If you have access to a MiG welder (as I do - he he )it is possible to do...however, you must go VERY slow or risk distorting the metal. It is the IDEAL situation to have it TiG welded. But, not sure what you have access to. David | ||

| or for the cheapo way, just a thought I had... create an acrylic or sheet metal inlay that spans both cases... (like wall to wall carpeting) and bolt (screw, hammer, whateva) it down to the bottom. If you did go for the acrylic id try maybe that "water illusion" thing with plumbers "goo" for the bottom... since the case is big, an inch of real estate on the base "shouldnt" affect anything. If it makes the Mobo sit wrong, then either Dremel a slot groove in the acrylic for it slide into... or extend the whole case an inch deeper and do the floor over. Im rambling on and on about an idea you might not use, or work..lol Good luck with what you choose to do. | ||
