| Etiquette & English Gentleman | I thought I'd treat my new case to some new power, turbo & hdd LEDs to replace the awful bog-standard orange & yellow ones ...I ordered them online at Maplin (the UK's equivalent of Radio Shack) & thought I'd got all the bases covered: 3mm - check forward voltage higher than the 2.35v output from the mobo - check blue to go with the colour scheme - check compare prices with other options to make sure I wasn't being ripped off - check buy regular brightness LEDs, not hyperbright - umm, whoops ![]() The photo doesn't do justice to the retina-searing brightness ... | |

Yup, it's a slightly burnt out Chieftec ... It was causing stability issues in my rig, but it's good enough for powering the desk lighting & the odd fan test ![]()

I tried that method... but for some dam reason, I still manage to get a shot in the eyes, every now and again. I also see you persueded, the great red light of ABiT, to relax... Nice system JE...miss the Duron? ![]()

Took two 12" CCs to tame that LED, there's still a large clear reflection of it in the back of the case ![]() Miss the Duron? It's very hard to miss with a double-barrelled 4-bore ![]()

Nope, the old LEDs popped straight out, new ones went straight in ... wax on, wax off. The only problem was unplugging the front fan.
I'm less impressed with the case now than when I reviewed it, living with it for a while has highlighted so problems for me: - it's just a bit too small; an extra inch deeper & taller would make a whole lot of difference; - it's just not tough enough if you do a lot of component swaps: the back panel is bent all over the place now; - the window is bulging outwards by a 1/4": the fixing method takes no account of needing space for expansion as the plastic warms up, the only direction for it to move is outwards.
Yup ... I had an ex-lokie TT volcanco 7+ in there at first; ATM I've got a cheapo sink with a 120mm fan on it A tight fit, but worth it.

| tough fit is right. my thermalright was a bitch. It tecnically doesn't fit. I had to make it fit. the clips holding on the tornado are pushing against my power supply. apparently they thought I would run a stock heatsink? Now that you mention it, my window does sort of have a bubble effect to it... this is going to bug the hell outta me. | ||
