Default Need some help about power switches!

Hey guys, I'm making my first mod and ran into my first problum. I need to make new power and reset switches for my case. I have been looking at switches and I was wondering what you all thought witch switches would be best. I cant seem to figure out why some have 3 different connecters on them when the original only has 1. If anyone could walk me through this or show me a thread I can follow that would be great. Thank you

You will need Momentary Switches, and I think you only need to hook up wires to it.

Dreyco is absolutely right - you need to be looking at "momentary" pushbuttons (rather than switches), and it's a fairly simple job to hook up the wires from your mobo headers. They'll have 2 connectors, one for each wire to the connector on the mobo header for each of the power & reset points.

I say pushbuttons rather than switches, because "switch" implies something that is either on or off, whereas what you need is something than is only "on" for as long as you press it.

If you've been seeing switches with 3 connectors, they are either DPST switches (double pole, single throw = on and off, but capable of switching 2 circuits independently (although at the same time)), or SPDT switches (single pole, double throw, aka on/off/on switches or “3-way” switches) - not what you need at all.

Take a look here - you need pushbuttons explicitly sold as "Only on whilst pressed

There's also some w/ more than 2 connectors because they have a light inside.
