Default Painting my Case tomorrow (Hopefully)

I have an old IBM APTIVA (I think) case that I cut out a slot for a window and am now going to paint it.

I am going to prime everything tomorrow....any suggestions? I have one can of Rustoleum primer to last me for the chassis, the panel for the sides (one whole thing), and the front....Will I have enough?

Also, can I just prime and paint? I really don't want to have to sand or anything....

No, I don't think so

You can ... but the standard of finish is proportional to the amount of time & effort you put expend - you're never going to get a super shiny finish if you don't put the elbow grease in ... the paint may not even stick to the existing finish if you don't prep that properly.

Assuming you do the initial prep properly, if you want to avoid rubbing down at every step, lots & lots of thin coats of primer, paint & then clearcoat (with plenty of drying time inbetween) will at least give you something you can polish up once it's hardened after a few weeks - I'm sure there's a tutorial on rubbing out somewhere on the site

Thanks for the reply.

Put on 2 coats of primer....had enough and still have some left! MIGHT do a 3rd.....but I will sand then paint.
