I have a Coolermaster ATC-110 not doing anything, and as I’m having something of a hate-hate relationship with my newest Aerocool “Cool View” case, I’m thinking of modding it … the Coolermaster that is, the Aerocool will probably also get modded … with a dirty great hammer.

My ideas are:
taking a big holesaw to it so I can use 120mm fans, possibly three on the top & three on the bottom, so I can get big airflow with little noise;
a big hole in the door so I can have some sort of round feature (not sure what, yet ... a plasma ball has been done, but I like the idea); doing something to disguise that boring side panel window;
stripping it so I can get it on the bench grinder & make it super shiny.

So far, the feedback I’ve had runs along these lines:
JE – I’m planning to mod my Coolermaster ATC-110 …
Everyone else – You can’t do that! It’s a design classic & is worth a fortune!
JE – Do you want to pay me a fortune for it?
Everyone else – Well … no.

The “worth a fortune” argument is fallacious IMO, and seems to stem from the silly money they cost when new, and the silly ?120 GBP or so that sellers on eBay think they’re going to get for one … the only one I’ve seen actually sell recently went for a non-whopping ?30 GBP
