If you're interested in learning more about Pinstriping, Heres a great clip of Ed Roth interviewing the man who started it all, Von Dutch! It was taken from old VHS, but the audio is decent. Lots of good advice!

This mod comes with a history lesson! A while ago I meant to do a thread about the Big Daddy Roth documentary that came out last year or so, don't know why I didn't. Should be required watching for a young modder methinks. Here it is. Bitchin' soundtrack too

Sexy_pants, good call! I had that on my xmas list, but Santa forgot! btw: I met the big daddy years ago at Back To The 50s car show, couple years before he died. I was really into custom vw beetles at the time and asked why he never did a Monster t-shirt with a Beetle.. He told me because they would never sell! That made sense and I also figured he didn't care for the puny powered cars.. which I discovered was untrue years later after reading a couple books about his life and creations.. He owned a mid 60s Red Beetle that he covered in stripes and he later used a vw flat 4s to power many of his custom trikes. He also owned the first gen Honda Civic that he drove with small trailor in tow to car shows across the US for many years.. Roth was very frugal. He never stayed at motels, he would park his car alongside the hiway and camp. until the authorities would tell him to move it along.. Ed never got rich from the model kits or ratfink toys either.. He was a true starving artist. (like me!!)

I read that Ed's son, Reno passed away... Very sad, I would have loved to watch this show

I had the pleasure of meeting Ed about 10 yrs. ago. He was a gentleman, a real car guy, and a creative genius. He would show up the new generation of kustomizers who use big money as a substitute for creativity.

Hey guys, I hope somebody releases that show on DVD!!! It would be awesome to see Ed's remaining sons carrying on their father's legacy.
