As a relation of (honestly, I thought about it first!) the modding workspace thread, do you have a special soundtrack for when modding?

Since the PC's out of service (usually), I grabbed a CD player for my stereo (all second-hand components except for the turntable) at the secondhand shop and usually play either +44, "When Your Heart Stops Beating", or Bon Jovi, "Have a Nice Day" on random.

For the most part,my "doing just about anything" soundtrack these days HAS to have a strong, driving bass line, good vocals and harmony, and something of a dark edge to it...

Lately been playing a lot of Atreyu's Lead Sails Paper Anchor, Ozzy's Black Rain, Bullet for my Valentine's The Poison, and some others of the same sort... Alternately, I got ahold of Billboard's Top 100 Songs of _____. I have 1984-1990, and 1999. Still looking for the rest of the 90's... Those are more for chillin' and reminiscing...

Gotta get my adrenaline pumping, AND sound good to me for it to make it into my music collection, much less make it into a playlist or soundtrack...

Usually I have something from my Adrenaline Mix playing, which is a mix of Mindless Self Indulgence, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, System of a Down, Korn and Marylin Manson. Something powerful that keeps the blood flowing to the extremities in this cold weather and drowns out the sound of the dremel.

I just put the radio on the local classic rock station. That way I get the music, the weather, and all the local deals on mortgages, title loans, and furniture.

Can't go wrong with The Overture of 1812, by Pytor Illch Tchaikovsky and Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries and La Fortuna.

Some Hatebreed or pre-Black Album Metallica is always good too.

Enya or Enigma when I'm looking for ideas or brainstorming something
Dance music when I'm sanding or filing
Rock when cutting / sawing / dremeling (Bon jovi, creed, 3 doors down, sometimes evanescence or nightwish)
Alternative when painting (mostly alanis morisette)

I'm a total music-addict so I couldn't work/mod without music.
Usual suspects for my playlist: Bon Jovi up to "Have a nice Day", Linkin Park, The Cranberries, Rogue Traders (especially "Voodoo Child"), Kaiser Chiefs, The City Drive, Nickleback, Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Rammstein, Unloco, Subway to Sally, Placebo and the Doctor Who Soundtrack.
I tend to pick out single songs rather than listen through the whole discography of an artist or band. So there are a lot of artists I didn't list.
