Default Micro-ATX case mod

Gentlemen, i'm in deep s---.
Here is some the pictures.
That case i brought was in 2003, I was young teenager, that I don't know it was useless few years later until now.

First of all, this case need some attention on the power supply. This power supply is obsolete and runs Ever Power 110W

The picture may help you to understand.

P.S MY APOLOGY! = The size of the power supply is
82 x 63 x 140mm
Miniature Power Supply Unit

I took the small chassis housing for the serial, firewire, usb and audio jacks. < let worry about that later after the power supply>

Silent X makes a nice collection of smal PSU's. I like the old skoolness of that case, reminds me of the style my classic AST all in one PC/Moniter was.

If you need any other help with the parts list, just leave a post here, i'll check up on it when i can.

Like i stated, for my future project, (Modding case). First of all, I need the new power supply that exceed 300W, powerful enough to support DVD burner, floppy, Front panel accessory, microATX socket 939, and a low profile video card ( if the mobo dont have the MCP+ICP on board), memory.

The power supply must be sized as

82 x 63 x 140mm
Miniature Power Supply Unit

But, the 140MM can be little longer, as much as 150MM, none smaller or bigger than 82 X 63MM.

Thank you for your time.

Lucan

p.s. i checked out the SilentX company website. None of the power supply they provided. Are i able to call them and have them to make it for me?

None matches to my PSU. Shuttle is too thin and long, which it will interfering my floppy drive. The IN WINIP-P300F1-0 has two hole to mount the psu, which mine is only 3.

Is possible if i can ask around to have someone build me a custon psu ? if so, can you list it here please?

Do you really need to use a floppy??
If its not desperatley needed then you can make more room by not having a floppy in there!
you could then use the floppy bay for maybe an lcd or a control panel of sorts.
You could always use an external floppy in any case. come to think of it, have you thought about using an external psu?

Anyway those are just some ideas for you...
Don't give up so easy, take your time and sketch out some ideas,
It'll come to you eventually Good luck and keep us posted!

All right, i gave up because i never went further on mod before, so i can try on my micro-atx case.

Give me the idea on how to fill the case ( floppy slot, Infared Port)

Make a new circuit board for the Firewire, USB, audio jacks

I can get the external floppy, so the swinging side for the floppy and hard drive can go, or can be used for two hard drives.

Please give me the info on the external power supply and how will i wire it for my internal

Also any idea how i can ship my metal outside case for the punch out on honeycomb mod? I intended not to use the case fan, but use the honeycomb mod to allow my heat to dissipate by itself.

Give me tons idea and i probably try to start this month.

It is too small and flat. It has to be tall.

I think i will be opting on the external power supply.

Thanks for your response.

I looked up about XG 600W, it gets a negative comment about it. The fan kicks in, even the low heat, and is considerable loudly. It was claimed that it can be heard from next room.

Since i'm deaf, will it be a factor for my family's quietness time?

Thank you.

P.S. Nova and XG has same product but different name, what's up with that?

Also, Nova and XG has discontinued to sell of it.

Is there a way to build a external power supply?

If i can build my own external power supply, then i can start my worklog.

Any PSU is Externally usable. All you need is a modular and long length cables. Sleeving would help out some too.

Cut a hole in your case, and filter the wires through it.

Thank you for your reply.

I ordered the new Flex-ATX that i was researching for almost 2 hours this morning.

The sizes are really really little tight, but i hope i can mod it and put it inside.

This is the F-ATX power supply i ordered today.

APEX / SOLY-TECH 275W FLEX ATX 12V UL & FCC POWER SUPPLY FOR ATX CASES (SL-275TFX)

Now, how to make the special circuit board for my enclosure in the front? Or build the cable across the computer?

http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/2144/img1283ur2.jpg

This is inside out.

Good news. My Flex-atx power supply finally arrived.

I placed it.. only the mount on the bottom and side.

I had to mod it just little to allow the psu to have some room.

Here the picture of progress.

This is close call, just made it.

The wires seem.. okay. Was it? Well, at least it has a sata power plug.

Anyway,

I'm open to suggestion on the motherboard, RAM and CPU

I'm not worrying about the hard drive.

I can re-use my old 80G Seagate Baccauda SATA.

I'm thinking about something on ULV cpu, but i'm sure that would be hard to get.

Any suggestion ?

I'm on extremely limited on the cash.

I need a cheap CPU and board, yet fast and efficient.

The board itself should be less than 240X 240 MM

A computer guy offered me...

E2150 ($75) + P5GC-MX ($69)

1G DDR2 ($29) He agreed to hold these items until after January

So, any suggestions or go with this config ?
