It's been done for years.

I brought it to a LAN and somehow left the cover of the case there, when I went to retrieve it, it had been thrown away. I had been looking for just the cover forever at the local scrapyard, and one never turned up, until today.

This is true... I personally could do it blindfolded, but then again j-dogg is "special".

Holy crap I am lazy. Well anyway here are the pics, I actually found another one because I needed a power supply and the supply bracket for the PSU.

Gah another boring Gateway computer. So boring.

*yawn*

What the hell are those?

That's not a Gateway.

Panaflo H1A 120mm intake (earplugs anyone?)

This machine is so old when I built it the original processor I had bought for it, an Athlon XP2400, was still 114 dollars. It was my 2nd mod I ever did and here is the mod list:

De-Gateway'd wiring harness for motherboard
120mm Panaflo H1A intake
2x 60mm 2.3w Sunon exhaust
Northbridge and Southbridge epoxy heatsink modded
Dremelized rear I/O panel for onboard LAN.

Now it has a 266mhz T-bred 2600.

Full specs:

Original DFI AZ-30TL, purchased brand new specially for this machine in 2004
Athlon XP2600 266mhz
1gb Supertalent DDR400
NVidia FX5700 128mb
60gb hdd

and all that on get this....the original OEM Gateway *90w* PSU. Yes it's 3dmark stable and I played CoD and UT2004 on it for about 2 hours at 10 x 7 res.

New, better cow paint is on the way as well as a 320w MircoATX PSU, I'll have to Dremel that one in for sure. I'm thinking about Dremeling the entire rear I/O panel so I can use any motherboard instead of this one, since it only supports AGP 4x. Once I get the 320w in I can really open up the graphics to something better like a 6600gt.

I dream of the day when I might, just might, LAN with j-dogg

We got quite the LAN crew down here, although were quite younger and a little less mature, its still a rip-snortin' good time

Yes we do, and yes it's quite younger and very much immature and especially when fireworks come in the matter.

PM me when you set a date. But I am on the older side :-)
