I was wanting to know how people here thought about the G5 Case, and only the case. I know Mac's suck, but i wanna know everyones take on JUST THE CASE.

Those are some pretty pimp looking case's. But they could sure use some help. Maybe I window, some fans couple CCFL's.

I like the space allowance at the case's bottom - sez fans that inhale on bottom and fans that exhale on top for a nice cooltemp case.

Being a mac user for over 14 years, I was shocked by the new case. I think its almost as ugly as the old 8500/9500's.....lol. But, I do see alot of possibilities for the modder, I wish Steve would let me design their next case.

And I wouldn't say mac's suck....only for gaming

Well the biggest problem would be getting that huge-ass apple logo on the case panel off.....but I guess if you were making a window anyway it wouldn't be a problem.

sorry but that case is a$$ ugly. the g4 case is alot better i think. i dont like the g5 case though

edit :: also look where the source of those benches are, apple. of course they will be better. we need onje of our guys to test it out.

You honestly believe that Apple is going to post benchies that make their $3000+ product look like sh!t when compared to a $1500 PC??? Hell no. Always look for sites that are NOT vendor sponsored.

It's really dull .... the most you can say for it is that it's a blank canvas.

You planning on modding one PJ ? Do you think they'll let you buy one without the other $2,900 worth of bits you don't want?

Hell yes I would mod one...if I could get my hands on one without the crappy Apple hardware inside...man too many images in my head...wonder if Apple sells replacement cases outta their warranty center?

Even if a Mac did play games as good as a pc,

you still can only get less than half the games on the market for your Mac which intern = lamez0rz.

Unless thereÃ‚â€™s some sort of windows XP emulator.

The case would be a great thing to get ahold of and MOD the He11 out of!

Besides that, I Hate Mac's. I refuse to use them or work on them.

The case looks ok to me. I have to agree that I like the G4 more. One thing I do like about the new cases is the layout of the inner componets. Looks like it would have great air flow to keeps your proc(s) cool.

There is an emulator, but the last ones I saw ran extremely slow.

Exactly JE! I'll probably start modding it right out of the box! Windows, lights, paint job, etc. I've got a while to dream up some great mods for it. I still have a project I'm working on that I'd like to finish first.

I don't want to get into a mac vs. pc war here. But, like PC's are the ultimate for gaming, Mac's are the best for what I do at work (graphic arts, prepress, design) and such. I'm really thankful that I have both.

Hmm.... i'm gonna have to go with UGLY.

And for all you modders.. you do know that those cases weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 60lbs, right? Try taking that to a lan party. It'll make a cheiftech feel like a shuttle.

Dont think i even need to say how much the hardware blows.
