| Well, after lots of thoughts of computer physics and cooling systems. I have came up with the coolest idea. Do you like beer? And do you like computers? Well comming soon is the new computer in a mini frige! It cool's your beer, it cool's your computer. Its the ultimate! Well, this is going to take about 2 months of work. Because there is the need of time for ordering some special cooling parts so I do not frezze over the computer's componets. Remember this. The bugget is $7,000. | ||

| First off, if you think you are the first you are not, there are many of them. Secondly the only thing you need to get rid of condensation is a good dehumudifier. Talk to a local cigar shop to get a dehumidifier tell them whats for so they give you one powerful enough. | ||

| Another note, THIS MOD IS VERY DIFFICULT AND TIME CONSUMING. Modder to modder here I would also like to tell you DO NOT TEST IT WITH EXPENSIVE HARDWARE! use the cheapest p100 setup u can find to test it and make sure it turns on and runs for a week w.o dieing. | ||

| Evil, give the guy some credit for trying to undertake such a mod. Dont dishearten the guy. I like your idea and with a budget like that you should be able to finish it off very professionally. You might want to consider going just the vapochill route. Then send the rest of the cash to me . Daddy needs a new computer | ||

| The problem, staff94, is that a computer is constantly generating heat. Beer doesn't. Once it gets down to the desired temp, it stays there - the thermal load that beer (or any food for that matter) presents to the fridge to be cooled is very low. A computer, on the other hand, generates a very high load to be cooled, and a fridge isn't designed to cool things generating heat. Good luck, but I think the money would be better spend on a Vapochill or something like that...then donate the rest to charity. I know a good one...the "send Pimp_Joose's 4 kids to College Fund" is always accepting donations... | ||

| Buy yourself a vapochill and a mini fridge, duct tape the vapo so it sits on top of the fridge and your set. Not only would you have lower temps then a fridge, but the vapo is just cooler. Anotehr problem with using a actual fridge is that they are not designed to run all the time, so the motor would burn up pretty fast... | ||

| I think it has distinct possibilities as long as you realize that there are two distinct cooling needs. Possibly a large (Compaq 6000 type) case divided into seperate cooling zones with seperate cooling systems. I beleive I saw a coffee maker / PC here on PR. After all ... seven grand is quite a budget. | ||

| Just pack the inside of the computer full of great stuff expanding foam. ![]() I think Krostillian has an excelent plan. By seperating the case in half, on side beer, one side computer, you would have a better chance. -Or- MY PLAN Cool the entire case with a minifridge, but cool the proc with a vapochill or prometia. This way the only thermal load you would be looking at would be the mobo. In my plan, you would still be cooling the computer somewhat with the fridge, but not putting too much thermal load on it. Whadda you think? | ||
