rigging a toggle switch up to control computer power

about to swap my computer into my new case, but the case does not have any power switch or anything (took the plastic pice in front off), i have some toggle switches....how can i rig this up?

a standard toggle switch won't do what you want, you will want to find a momentary contact switch for your power button.

Buzz hit the nail right on the head.

But if you heart is set on a toggle, just flip it on and then off again very quickly to simulate a momentary switch.

okay i was sorta thinking that it would need to be momentary.....okay, guess its time i start looking around for something to tear a momentary switch from....lol too lazy to go out to radio shack, and i wanna get it switched today

Use an old Telegraph for your momentary switch!

Or, mod a spring/rubberband to pull/push the switch to the off position so you have to hold it up to turn it on...

I got this one from the Shack for about $4.

Its a dual position momentary, so you can wire it for your reset switch as well. Bump it up for on, down for reset.

jinxÂ© Still Duck's Hoe Though	I got this one from the Shack for about $4. Its a dual position momentary, so you can wire it for your reset switch as well. Bump it up for on, down for reset. Attached Thumbnails
