| ok I have some questions about lighting ... are there strobe lights for computer cases that will not get extremely hot? from what I have experienced with strobes .. strobe = hot. also, are there any pre-programed .. or even programable "light shows" .. by this i mean something that can change the overall color wash of a case using a LED bar or something similar. This is my main idea/goal right now with this case (after I install all the wire cleanup/management stuff I just bought) and I want to deffinatly try to acomplish it one way or another. if there IS a controller or something out there I don't want to spend $100 on it .. and a week later find a $10 LED bar that does it all. I know I could simply get some LED clusters and somehow turn a few on or off to get to this goal .. but .. I would need something to interface with them. fan bus's seem to be all the rage but are there any light bus's that could control multiple ccfl and/or leds? also, about the sunbeam 3 LED clusters. how many of these are needed to light up a mid-tower case (i am specifically using an Antec PC Lanboy). I want to make sure if I go the route of buying a bunch of those clusters that I have enough. I know this is a lot for one post .. but any tidbit of information will be appreciated. | ||

| Sounds like ya got some sool mods in mind, I have read about alot of them, but I don't have the links anymore, sorry I know what you are after though...reminds me of a guy around my area who has a "Lightar" (looks like a Guitar, but with light contols and no strings) He puts on stage shows at local bars to Music, kinda like a Pink Floyd concert There are alot of Sharp Lighting Pimps here that will be able to set you straight here. Good Luck! ![]() | ||

| well I am in search of something I can have a little control over. the MadLights seem like they'd do the trick but I can't find the information on how to interface with them ... would i need a cmos flash programmer? also Lokie .. your mods are on the "god of all mods" level and I would more than trust Twizted to put together a custom light. the problem i think i would run into again is interfacing with the light to change colors and animations if anyone has the madlights and wants to easier explain if I can program them .. or just give general opinions on them I would appreciate it and Twizted .. if you somehow could get a lighting rig that I can interface with .. let me know. | ||

| I am getting a little excited. If you come up with anything remotely cool I would love to be the first to have it. I am looking around at tons and tons of lighting solutions .. ranging from like $9 to $90 and beyond .. I am still trying to figure out what I want myself. There are so many options and choices when it comes to this stuff yet there isn't really anything that is standing out and screaming "HEY USE ME". BTW: Lokie, I noticed you are from Eau Claire .. I grew up there .. went to elementary school at Meadow Lane when it first opened up. Right on, Eau Claire is a nice little town. I have a bunch of realitives there. I remember a time when Oakwood wasn't around and London Square still was so I go back a little ways hehe. Keep up the great work on your mods. I am still just blown away by your work. Twizted: seriously bro keep me posted with any details of lighting stuff you come up with .. and I understand what it means to be busy so .. take your time. | ||

| i used to live right on Golf .. right in those squarish apartment buildings ... then my family moved to rudolph road /w the golf course in our backyard .. had 2 picture windows broken before we ended up trekking to minnesota (hehe but not because of that reason). my grandparents live more towards where Hepbners Bakery was (dunno if its still around). Over by Mega Foods (i know that is something else now too.)But yea .. many good memories from Eau Claire .. visit there a few times every year. Might have to try and catch a lan party/event in the central wisc/eastern minnesota area so I can see your mods in person. | ||

| if only i could solder .. i would do the kitt light before anything else .. what a great idea ... i think i might have to learn some soldering so I can get this done. that'd look unbelieveably cool! and I found a site with a PCB and components selling everything for $10 .. little plexy and and I could have pretty cool little light on the front | ||

| Apex Techie Lite | Hey all... I see that you've all done some research on LEDs and such, and I was wondering if you might have come across something I am looking for. I am not lazy, but as you can imagine, trying to find the right lights are driving me crazy! I'm looking to get a few sets of lights. Strobes, and UV cold cathode tubes. Both need to be bright enough to light up the entire case. UV CCs are simple enough to find, but I was looking more for a suggestion on those. White LEDs that are VERY bright, and I can point to a particular source. Basically they need to shine a 2" diameter circle, almost in spotlight fashion. Last thing (and the most difficult I think) are UV reactive and shielded SATA cables. I can find UV reactive, but not shielded ones. I already get interference from my SATA drives that I can hear in my sound card whenever the drives are active. I am going to run a WC system, and don't want the EMI from the pump to interfere with the HDDs. I know this is a lot to read, but I would really appreciate any and all help you can offer. Thanks a ton! | |
