busted ass inverter

i just got a sunbeam uv cathode, yeah this is gonna sound newbie....and it had a dual inverter, so i throw in the pctoys uv cathode i had sitting around too, i plug it all up and...well...boom...ok well anyway my question is the lights look fine, if i just get a new inverter you guys think itll work...or am i screwed and just gotta buy 2 new cathodes..o yea and i dont kno why it blew up....

Because the cold cathode you had laying around drawed more power than a Sunbeam unit. You overloaded it fried the inverter. The Sunbeam cathode itself MIGHT be okay, but you probably destroyed the cathode from PCToys. Umm.. basicly - buy sets from the same vendor and don't mix or match.
