Ok, I just finished assembling my brand new rig. It is far from pimp right now .. bone stock.

This is what I have:

Antec Lanboy ATX Case /w 350 SmartBlue PSU
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Barton Core
Volcano 11+ Heatsink/Fan /w Front Panel Speed Control
Powercolor ATI Radeon 9600 Pro EZ
Creative DVD-ROM
AOPEN 16x CD-RW
40gb WD ATA133 Hard Drive
2 22cfm Case Fans (generic)
512mb Samsung C2.5 DDR400 (PC3200)
MSI KT6 Delta-LSR

It is a realllly solid setup but .. it looks very messy and underdone.

The Antec Lanboy case has a pre-mod window and the SmartBlue powersupply gives off a bit of blue glow. Very subtle.

Where I want to go next: I am damn near maxed out financially and I am down to wanting to spend about another $50-75 on "dressing it up".

I was planning on doing a UV setup .. maybe 2 12" CCFL's. I also was looking at these CCFL fans on Xoxide that have support for a second light. This would be pretty cost effective. 2 CCFL fans /w hookups for the other 2 12" CCFL's.

I also wanted to either braid or cover (or both) the PSU cabling. It is an absolute mess right now.

With the UV setup, I wanted to obviously replace my ATA cables with rounded UV reactive ones.

finally I wanted to put a UV reactive etching from ShatteredWeb on the pre-mod case window.


This would all in all make a good looking case .. not very "out there mod" or really anywhere near what I have seen on these fourms (I am not ready to go all out quite yet. I want to get a simple but elegant rig going first)

ANY TIPS SUGGESTIONS ETC ... PLEASE SHOOT MY WAY .. PAST EXPERIENCE ... WORDS OF WISDOM .. ETC ETC ...

This is, like I said, my first rig and I want to make sure I don't goof anything up or make stupid mistakes.

I am clueless when it comes to things like "how much lighting to do I need" or "can I mix different color CCFL with UV .."

Please leave suggestions!!! (I will be posting pics of the "stock mess" as I am calling it, very soon .. and then obviously I will post follow-up finished pics.)

I would definately sleeve and re-route the wiring before doing anything else.
