Question Im out of 5.25" Drive Bays

well, my CrazyPC/Lian Li Biohazard case has 4 5.25" drive bays. I am runnning a TDK DVD+-R/RW, Sony DVD-Rom, Hard Drive Cooler, and a LCD screen so im out. I have a Front X thing that came with my MoBo and I would like to use it but i cant. How would i make this work?

Remove the DVD-ROM?

I'm pretty sure if it burns them, it plays them...
Or, get out the dremel and bust some holes in that puppy...

Kayin: copy on the fly is a nice feature.

Bio: Kinda obvious to me... the hdd shouldnt even be theres. it's a 3.5 device, put it where it belongs. Dont Lian li's have front intakes on the bottom? if yours does, put the hdd right in front of that... itll keep it nice and cool. If it doesnt... well we're all modders here. MAKE ONE.

In any case, i could never se the reason for a hdd cooler... mine generally run warm, but its not like they'd fail if they get really hot, right?

My suggestion would be to cut a bay on the top of your case and put it there. The only problem with this is that if it doesn't match well with the color then it will look bad. If I were you I'd just say screw the LCD and put it somewhere else if you wanted. I don't know about you, but I'm looking more at my monitor than at the front of my case.

I would mod the new mobo "X Thing" into the front panel.. but if thats not an option just nix the DVD-Rom....

o...i think ill just drill holes in a 3.5" blank and attach the connenections to there instead of the provided "box". that way, ill just move the things i need. i think i stumbled onto the instructions on the front x website the other day. plus, the front x panel is beige, and my case is black.

The program will write automatically to the HDD when copying a CD, there's no need to do it manually unless you have some program that is crappy. If that's the case, then download Nero or CloneCD.

Yes, if you can make it fit into a 3 1/2" bay then definitely do it.

This is easy. If you don't have a hole, you make one.

It gets really difficult when you have extra holes and you need to get rid of them(gunshot wounds etc.)

I'd ditch the hdd cooler, or if you're really content, just relocate it somewhere else.
