Default window material for my first (major) mod

Greetings pimps!
I am about to leave for a DJ gig here in a few so I thought I would whip this message out fairly quick beforehand.
I am going to be cutting into my case this weekend and was wondering what a ballpark figure might be for window material.
Is plexiglass the best? Acrylic? Lexan?
That and which holds better with the most noise reduction, rivets or the channel stuff (rubber).
I would think the rubber but I am not the expert here.
Anyhow, I'll look forward to reading any responses after I get back from Project Partytime.

P.S. This will be a mult-stage mod as I plan to etch the window as well (after reading Lokies guide thoroughly several times)

I used plexi and liquid nails for mine... inside it don't look good, but its fine on the out side.

leave the rivits out. you will crack the window before you ever get enough in there to hold it.
"H" molding, however being fat, is the most sound, for sound I would think.
adheasive, is the least expensive, and the easiest to do.
ENJOY...

If you're going to use adhesive, use some RTV or other clear flexible silicone-based caulking, it tidies up easier on the inside of the case, will still seal well, and hopefully keep noise in...

You could always double-glaze!

I can see it all now, low-E, tinted, keep-warm-in-the-winter glass...

Plumber's Goop works well, as does double sided foam tape.

id go with lexan and for the size you need about 24" by 24" it will be about $25 or more for 1/4 inch (stops a 9mm handgun round)

I just used welders glue . .it comes in a shiny silver tube and takes overnight to dry and seal, but is rock solid when it dries.

plexi, acrylic, and lexan are all basically the same for the modding business. just go with whatever is cheaper. if you can find crystalite, use it. its the cheapest out of all the fake-glasses.

as for attachment, use clear double sided tape. holde 10x better than foam, plus its thinner. you can also cover the sheetmetal edges of the case w/ chrome door molding or anything of the nature.

btw...what is that title line underneath your names and above the avatars called?
