| Apex Master Tech | i just put in some fans and a heatsink and gpu heatsink and was getting good temperatures, usually 24/27 mobo/cpu. then i put in a cd rom(computer has 1 now) and a floppy, and covered up some 3 open pci slots. now im getting 39/32 mobo/cpu temps. any idea whats with that? specs crappy case 4 case fans gpu cooler asus a8n-sli board amd 3000+ nvidia 6800 2gig ram thanks | |

Well, all things being equal, adding a CD-ROM and floppy will add next to no heat. Covering up 3 open PCI slots (I'm assuming you mean in the back of the case) is probably your culprit. Temps in the mid 30s are not bad... unless your computer starts to freeze up. Don't worry about it. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

Coretemp is trusted more than the mobo programs as it is getting the temp off resisters in the processor(s). Checking the motherboard temps is good, incase you have a bad air flow. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
