| I was just curious. I know cable management and having a clean setup allows air to flow better through the case (and better cool stuff) but how much is overkill? I just recently re-did the inside of my case since I got a new CPU and video card and I spent several hours (a lot more than I should've) putting it together. ![]() Sorry for the metal bars in the way...forgot to take a pic before I put it back in my desk. | ||

| I think your rig is very nicely organized and tidy and you did a good job with managing to get your rig to look clean. | ||

| I got a little nutty and even made the USB cables for the easy access header (at the top of the case...if you're familiar with the Tusnami Dream its at the middle of the top panel) at the top go behind the motherboard plate. About 1/2" after the USB headers plug into the mobo (bottom center of the mobo) the go behind the motherboard and exit through a hole that I dremeled in the plate. You'd probably laugh if you saw "the snake" if you saw behind the case panel on the other side. All the loose molex connectors and plugs and stuff were conveniently chucked into a nice "sausage'" and zip-tied together. ![]() | ||

| I may see one reason you are having trouble with 3D06, you have 4 sticks of ram...AMD CPU's will only run at a 2T command rate with 4 sticks, try removing two of them and set it to run with 1T, it will help your score a bit (Just for testing purposes, you want to go back to 4 sticks for gaming) 2T is also known as CPC off (Command per Clock) and 1T is CPC on! I generally see about a 20% difference in scores between these two settings in a Super Pi 1mb test... As far as the wiring goes, very nice job, the realy nutty people will go as far as to remove the ends of the cables, and drill holes in strategic places, and then route them behind the Mobo tray...sometimes they will even lengthen or make the cables shorter. One guy even used some stainless steel tubing (Or was it braided stainless steel hose?) to hide his wiring! | ||

| I have that case, I think if it wasn't in use, you should tuck the cabling thats along the drive cages into that space between them and the side panel behind them. I use that space for inverters and the like right now... | ||

O.o..never really thought about reverse mounting the drives. Maybe I'll give it a whirl if I take it apart again anytime soon.
I'll try taking out a few sticks and see what happens. This RAM is rated at 2-2-2-5 1T, but with 4 sticks of the stuff it refuses to work at 1T so it's been running at 2T the whole time.
Currently most of the loose wires are budled up behind the hard drive cage. I also have the inverter for my single blue CCFL back there. I had a second but while trying to move it I accidentally smacked it hard into the case and broke it :-(

It's not the RAM's fault, but more of the processor's fault. DFI made some sort of workaround, but for the most part the best way to go is 2 sticks of 512MB or 1GB from a matched pair kit. Good job on the wires.

Yeah...I wouldv'e gone 2x1GB, but I had gotten one pair of the sticks a while back and when I upgraded to 2GB I just got another pair instead of throwing this stuff out and buying new stuff.

I know its a little bit off topic but how do you like that cpu cooler?. What temps do you get? and is it fanless?

There's a 120mm fan tucked on the inside of the cooler. I'm running a different fan than the stock one (stock fan isn't too great...broke quite fast) at around 1600rpm and right now I'm getting max load temps of 41C. It's a really good cooler and I'd recommend it to anyone. Trouble is it is quite sought after so places like Newegg are constantly out of stock of this item. You could run this fanless probably if you had good enough case airflow. I actually ran tests to see how hot my case would get in the event that EVERY fan failed (omfg how unlikely is that). I covered all the holes in my case and turned all but the PSU fan off and I was still only hitting 60C at max CPU load after 20 minutes of burn-in.
