Default How the hell do you do this?

I wanted to mount twin-80MM fans into my 5.25" bays. It just so happens that two 80's fill exactly (to the mm I measured it) two 5.25" bays. So I wanted to make a bracket (unless they are already out there) that mounts like a CD-ROM and holds two 80MM fans side-by-side, how the hell do you do that?

Why? The only thing that would even feel the air from the fans would be the powersupply and any hard drives you had behind it.

But if you must do it, then I would recommend acrylic or plexiglass. You can either bend or cut it, and it works great for something quick and easy like that.

Not if you put 2 80MM Tornadoes on the front

Just need to get cooler air into the case itself.

You sure about those measurements...because 5.25" only=133.4 mm as opposed to the 160mm from the side-by-side fans?

Also, what would you be using this for? Just for better case ventilation?...because you probably won't be able to fit any more devices in those bays other than some HDD's.

Well anyway, what I would do is just buy some sheet metal and cut it the same size as the side of a CD drive and then attach the sliding-mechanisms to hold it in place. That way you can remove it as easily as any other device that wold normally go in there.

Here is something similar that you can take inspiration from:

the fans coulda be taking air out and even if they are blowing in the air outside his case is probably cooler then inside so it would help.

you want to get air in have you thought of putting a fan in the botom of the case? Either 2 80mm tornados or maybe a 92mm tornado or a 120mm fan.Would suck air from the bottom of the case and blow it up cooling all the componets.

yeah... i just held two 80's up to the front of my case... they're wider by an easy centimeter +. Anyway yeah, sheet metal probably works the best.

I just tested 2 spare fans against 2 spare bezel covers. You are ok for height, but about 1.5 cm too narrow.

ie, 2 x 80mm won't fit.

2 x TMD 70mms probably would though.

whoops was a bit off there, anyway part of the reaso why I wanted duals on the top was I thought it looked cool, I really don't feel like h4x0r!ng the whole bottom of the case, I wanted a somewhat clean look and I thought 2 80MM up front would look sweet, if I painted the rotating part green and the rest white it would match too

well maybe if you totally scrapped the casing and shaved the blades to make like a 75mm fan... idk.

70's would work yes.
