| Apex Techie Wannabe | I'm getting a new midi tower case to mod, seen here ![]() And have 6 fans availible to put in it, I will have one in the front, and one in the back (obviously). Where else should I put the other four fans and should they be intake or outake. I will be cutting holes for them, so I was just wondering where I should place them. Any ideas? Kind regards, Aaron | |

| First off, what size and CFM are they? I would say have 2 exaust (one through the PCI {under video card} unless using all of them) and two in front (through the extra 5.25" bays) One Chimney and one on the side thats ducted onto CPU/gpu... | ||

| I'd go for the front intake and rear exhaust, One or two intake fans on the side (one pointing at your CPU fan and northbridge heatsink, the other pointing at your Graphics card cooler intake). If you have space at the top once the PSU and optical drive/s are in, put an exhaust fan in the top panel. Fan number 6 could either go in 5.25" bays (a 120mm one uses 3 of them though) or you could put one in the base of the case (provided that you have case feet) Seriously though, that's going to create a lot of noise having 6 fans plus the CPU (and northbridge) HSF and ones in the PSU. Over time they will get even noisier! (mind you, I have 7 in my case - watercooled, but still noisy ) | ||

This is probally your best setup, well put masterP, side note, for AMD NF3&4 boards the NB is lower and closer to the GPU than the CPU HSF Also after i added this WC setup with 5 more fans (external) my computer sounds silent it has 7 now without the HSF for the CPU, but i've had as many as 12 in there running a near 40 dB

(One i've got started) One more thing though, I want to change the Power and Reset button, what type do I need? SPDT? Momentary on? or what? There's so many to choose. Thanks, Aaron

Not to sure that you need that many fans but your creation is just that, yours, do with it what you will... In reguards to the Switches, we need more info about your gear to give you the correct anwsers, so if you will post your "Stats" then we can help you out!

| Switches should be SPST momentaries for power and reset, since you're essentially shorting the headers for just long enough to complete the circuit for whichever function you're trying to attain. Something like the Stainless vandal switches mnpctech carries HERE I have two of them on my current case project, and they both work like a charm... Plus, the bling ain't too bad, either... | ||
