Not in PC applications, but as fans go, squirrelcage fans are the best. They really push major air, and don't have that central dead spot.

havent used one personly thought the science behind it is pretty solid, Squirell cage fans (what that is) natrually push alot of air, and elemenate the dead zone you normaly have with a fan with a hub

With a fan like that, routing a fresh air duct would be a no-brainer.

I've seen those for pc before, but all the ones i've seen have been designed to be quiet and therefore low rpm/airflow. maybe that one is finally a bit higher airflow. that would be cool.

[edit]

hmm guess not:

RATED SPEED: 1,900 RPM
AIR FLOW: 10.9 cfm* (*Air Pressure:2.9 mm H2O)

they designed it as a silent cooling solution. WHY wont somsone make one for 7000 rpm. lol.

It only gives 10.9 cfm @ 23dBa though. I realize that's not loud but it's not very much air flow. Most other 80mm fans give approximately 1 cfm per 1 dBa.

i know we want more cfm but would you need that cfm if there no dead zone?

How can you make do with only 10.9cfm, regardless that there is no dead air spot??? That's like a 1mph breeze, which would barely be enough airflow, right?

Those were the high performance heatsinks supplied with the original palomino's for the serious overclockers. A friend of mine used to have one, and he took his Palomino 1500+ all the way upto 2GHz. This heatsink was the king of heatsinks back in the days of the Early Palomino.
