| I'm getting ready to start a expenisve but very well worth it Acrylic case project, and i'm going to be using lots of 120mm fans probably 5 +- 1 and i was wondering if aerocools turbine 120s are good for lifespan, the extreams i've looked at say they will push 90CFM (Thats my target cfm) That and i kinda like the look of the turbine fans vs the regular ones. Comments are greatly appriciated. Oh the reason for so many 120's is i plan on going to a 3 fan 120mm radiator and ditching my two 80mm radiators. the fans also price out at 18.00 a piece so any higher performing fans in that price range are also somethin i'm lookin for. | ||

| Hmm i was planning on using them for intake + Exhaust on the lower half of the case then using another for intake on the upper part of the case. not sure exactly what i will be doing. I want keep noise down, which is why i'm doign 120mm all around, but i also want really really high CFM i plan on hooking it all up to fan controller, so i can throttle the intakes and part of the radiator fans. | ||

If you plan on using a fanbus you may wat to consider this: http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/fba12g12u.html Check my posting here for more info about 120mm fans. | ||

| Apex Master Tech Apprentice | Yeah Panaflo's gear or Scythe S-Flex fans are your best bet. A good way to look at the reliability of a fan is its bearings. (Warning: Generalizations ahead, feel free to add to the list ) Sleeve- (Aerocool, Thermaltake, Aspire, some CM models) quickest to die, and loudest when they start to (cheap, and often quiet to start with) Modified sleeve- Hydro (Panaflo), Hybrid (SilenX), Rifled (Cooler Master) Step up in price- for added reliabily and maintains some of the quiet Double Ball bearing-- definately the longest lasting of conventional fan types, louder too Fluid Dynamic Bearing-- recent development in fan use-- longest lasting period, quiet, and expensive | |
