Default 120MM 5V Volt Fanbus?

Hey guys, here's a math question for yall. I have a slew of COMAIR ROTRON - MUFFIN DC 120MM fans laying around from some old network hubs that i dismantled. I'm using them for my ghetto water cooling project, but i need to make a rheobus for them. I want to run 2 rheostats with 2 fans on each bus. Fan specs are:
Model MC05J3
5 VDC
.75 A
3.75 W
I'm wondering what pot. will handle 2 of these badboys.
Thanks!

The Sunbeam Rheobus should be able to handle those...

The sumbeam is set up for 12V, this is a 5v setup, plus im going for an oldskool DIY look. Plus, i could use the soldiering practice.

Well... this Rheobus allows total control between 0v~12v.. so I thought you could use them...

You have all your info, 3.75W. So use a 5W Pot...(it gets expensive..) Or you can use a vairable voltage regulator to control it..

This one can handle 20watts per channel. Im not sure if this is what you are looking for but Im getting those same style fans and this is what I am using to control them.

Well, I decided to try a few different potentiometers, only managed to set 2 on fire. 25 Ohms is way too much resistance, and the fan wont spin until the pot is turned like 90% up. Next smallest I could find was a 5k Ohm and then a 10k Ohm, both of those started smoking right away. The 10k ohm on actually puffed a bit of flame. I'm going to search around and see if i can find a 5W pot, but there isnt really anywhere to get elec parts in my town other then Radio Crack.

You are gonna have to build up a circuit, I have found 1.5's and 2.0's but nothing bigger!

Thinking outside the box is fine, but I dont have a credit or debit card, no real way to order stuff online. So I have to use local vendors.

YOu can use money order in some places. Try Mouser.com for parts or Jameco.com. You can get their catalog and send in a MO with it.
