Rounded IDE cables...

besides looking neater, how much do rounded IDE and Floppy cables help in airflow and case cooling? A stupid question i know, but someone has to ask it...

They drop case temperatures about 1-3 degrees celcius if you have ribbon cables jumbled everywhere. If you tuck away all your ribbon cables, you really won't see any difference.

In_fact flat ribbon cables are easier to hide and are easier to throw away when you ruin them if your a cable cramer. Rounded cables are really nice to look at if you can hide psu wire and or if you have a plex case and are unable to hide them. As for air flow they really don't do to much I haven't noticed any changes in temps since I went to rounded cables but they look better and may flow air a bit better so it all comes down to do you need them or do you want them.

Round IDE's do an awful lot towards cooling, especially if you have connectors in odd places on your mobo (RAID, PCI Card bus) it also saves floding ribbion cables ( which can be very time consuming) whereas with round cabes you can cram them into small areas hidden away from view.
