What W? And What Brand?

Hi Dudes,

Well i need a psu.... i need to know first what W i need because everyone is telling me all diffrenent W's,

Ok Im going to be powering:
Amd Mobile 2500 ( Overclocking )
1/2 Hard Drives
1/2 Cdrom Drives
512 Ram
Radeon 9800
1/2 Cathcodes
3/4 Case Fans

Also i live in the UK, so some UK sites would be nice

I am guessing you mean watts? Not sure what you mean buy half a CCL and three fourths of a fan but ok

Anyways... a good 350watt would work ok...a 450 would be awesome and give you headroom for more additions like extra fans or cc lights. If you getting a cheap power supply get 450+ watts, my favorite brand is Enermax but Antec and Zalman make good ones too.

Well im using the Enermax EG465P-VE, its 460w. Im runnin a XP1700+ (oced), 512 ram, 80 gig HD, 52X CD, Radeon 9500, 7 fans. Never had a problem with it, great psu. Its quiet and has a mobo contoled fan which i like. It comes with 2 fans, one mobo controled and one not. Shelding on the ATX cable.

I say go with atleast a nice 420w from Antec or Enermax, would be fine for what you got. I have a 550w Antec Truepower, but my fans pull nearly 60w on their own and a tv tuner card has a rather large draw as well.

Lots of power calculators out there ... http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/ for example. That one says you need 360w or so, so 420w or above is a good idea.

Chieftec PSUs are ok, but Antec are better

I have more hardware components than you, and and plus my PSU powers my vapo and it works fine. So I bet 420 will be sufficient for you.
