| Does anyone know where I could acquire a large fan? I've been trying to think of ways to fill my summer, and drew up some plans for a warehouse-type mod. I thought it might be really cool to replace a wall or almost a whole wall with a huge fan (purely for decoration, of course...though it COULD produce a nice breeze at a couple hundred RPM ), I was thinking of spinning it at ~50-100 RPM. Anyway, the size I'm looking for is at least 18", if I decided to mod a server, I could go for ~25" and do fun things with the inside as well. They wouldn't have to look nice, in fact I'd prefer just bare steel. I plan on checking local hardware places (Home Depot etc.). I would just build the fan myself, as constructing or finding a suitable motor wouldn't be challenging, but I don't have the tools or know-how to cut and bend steel TIA, Jeff | ||

| I have a few large high velocity fans I use for work to speed dry times for spackle and paint and whatever. The ones I have are made by Patton. They're the best I've found and are pretty quiet for the aount of air they move. You can find them at other places but heres a link so you can see some of them: http://www.nextag.com/Patton_Fans~27...36ozmainz5-htm | ||

| I say....Go to walmart and buy a bigass box fan and take it out of the case and mount it to a piece of angle iron or something that runs the length of the case. Then just run a power chord out the back of the server rack. You can get one of these for like 10-15 bucks. | ||

| [QUOTE=carbongraphite]http://www.bigassfans.com/ dose your warehouse need a helicopter? Hehe, that company is based here in Lexington, KY. You should have heard the whining when they put a billboard up on a major road It's still there though, drive by it a couple times a week! | ||
