| Well i finally got fed up with a sys temp of 65c and a proc temp of 60c so i invested christmas money into fans. I cut a blow hole added a 90mm sunon fan moves 45 cfm. Then added a front taped in 120mm all aluminum fan that moves 75 cfm. Then i added a Cooler Master HSF with the whirl wind thing. Now sys temps are at 45 and proc at 40 | ||

| That is the worst hole I've seen cut in a long time. I saw a dude blast the side of his computer with a 12 gauge shotgun and it was cleaner than that. If you were going for a ghetto effect, you got it. EDIT: Upon closer inspection, the hole is not as ragged as I thought, it is the missing paint that makes it look that way. You must have cut it with a dremel...and had some problems. | ||

| Etiquette & English Gentleman | Yeuchhh ... that's some pretty sorry excuses for mods there. 10 out of 10 for getting such good drops in temps ... minus several hundred for making such a mess of it. I'm assuming these must be your first mods, so I'll try and be constructive .... That top blowhole is the most pressing thing to fix IMO ... if you want to keep that 90mm fan, you're going to need to to use filler and/or spray putty to get the surface flat again & respray; or, you could go for a bigger fan & recut the whole & try not to make such a badgers' arse of it the second time.... & for bogs' sake, try and find _4_ screws that match. As for the inlets, what's your excuse there? Would it have been so hard to take the front bezel off & screw the fans in? Whats going on with your CPU fan? I assume those "whirl wind thing"s suck from both ends ... so it looks like your in serious danger of getting wires sucked in, and it & your rear fan are going to be arguing if you've got it set as an exhaust. I don't think you were asking for opinions of your wiring, so I won't say any more than A few links to things you might find useful ... there's plenty more out there too - even ones I didn't write ![]() PSU power loom sleeving Mobo Power Connector Sleeving Tools for wiring Metalworking handtools Power tools Blowholes (including GliterKill's templates) | |

| wow that was nice. Umm that was my first attempt at cutting anything on a computer. And i didnt use a dremmel. I used some big honking hand held circular saw with a metter cutting attachment. My wiring was good until i had to move everything around for the new power supply. Ill re-wire, sand the blow hole, and get new screws. Oh yeah and find a way to screw in the 120 mm fan. Ill give u an update soon. | ||

| Lokie's Personal WU-Hoe | Well, you get an A for effort...but do you really think people have something good to say about how it looks? Browse around the case gallery once, you'll find out what people think is good and what is bad(and there usually are no trends or biases, just factual information). If you're going to botch a hole in the top of the case and then post it on a forum expecting a good response you have have another guess coming. Before you say "Hey, you try cutting a hole with a handheld circular saw with a "metter" attachment", I would have to stop you and say "you should be using the right tools for the job, and if you don't have them then get them". Or just be extremely careful with the tool you're working with and it just *might* turn out good. I suggest picking up a dremel or a drill and hole saw and cutting out a 120mm fan hole. Then sand it down real nice and you will have something that looks 238% better and gives you better performance. I don't know how old you are, but money for a dremel shouldn't be a problem if you have a job. If you don't have a job then just hold off on modding or find someone who has the right tools and have them do it for you. [edit]Bah, JE and his "whole spelling error of hole" was fooling with my mind. ![]() | |

| Well for a 15 yr old, I must say it isn't too bad. You used what you had and achived the goal that you wanted (lower temps). The rest is just cosmetics, and can be cleaned up at your lesure. Good job, keep it up and OC that chip and make it burn!!!! Then look into watercooling.... | ||
