Default Laptop cooler

I'm looking for a laptop cooler that isn't powered through USB (nor battery powered). Something that plugs into the wall. I can't seem to find any, short of building my own, which I may just do if I can't find anything.

Evercool Widescreen Notebook Cooler for 17in Notebook - Silver

This one says "With the ability to be powered by your laptopÂ’s USB bus for portability, or from an optional DC adapter for longevity" so I think it is what your looking for.

I have this one. I would advise not to buy it. The fans just went out on it after only 6 months of use.

Does anyone have any personal experiences with any of the ones mentioned, other than the Targus?

This looks like it's worth building. Just use a test psu or a 12v wall wart.

Thought of something that u could do. Use a usb charger to wall adapter. Newegg.com - CTA Digital AC USB Charger for iPod Model IP-USC - Retail

Then u could use a regular USB cooler. If i had to choose i'd choose this one Newegg.com - VANTEC LapCool2 Notebook Cooler Model LPC-301 - Retail
it's silent, great reviews from a lot of people, and i like the adjustable fan speed built in.

If you've had the laptop for a while, you should try to find a service manual and clean out the heatsink. Maybe replace thermal putty/tape with AS5. Made my practically useless Inspiron 600M good as new.

Idle/Load before
CPU 51 / infinite.. lol throttled down at 70
GPU 49
HDD 55

Idle/Load after
CPU 45 / 58
GPU 45
HDD 51

If you want, I've got an extra Griffin PowerBlock you're welcome to. It's got an AC input and a USB power output. Provides up to 500mA, same as a normal USB port...
