Default fan or water??

hi guys, i want to buy a new cooling for my CPU and i was esitate between:
Welcome to Thermaltake
or
::: Zalman :::

the liquid is more expensive but i guest more cool and has a better look, but the Zalman is less expensive and maybe it can do the same job...

Can you guys tell me your opinion.

Thermaltake W/c is a waste. Spend big bucks and build a w/c system from the ground up.

and for air get the ThermalRight Ultra 120 Extreme a lot of guys at XS have and they work great.

I'd make 3 points which I've learned over the last year or two:

With the use of heatpipes these days, low end water cooling performs about the same as high end air (and costs more!)

Water cooling also requires maintennance (coolant changes etc) Air just needs dust removal once in a while.

Decent watercooling kits are expensive and still require regular maintennance to hit better-than-air temps.

If you are comparing a TT kit to a decent air cooler - go with the air cooler

OK so i'll take the air cooling but i want a fan that will be more cool than my original CPU fan that came with my core 2 duo. I think i'll take the Zalman.

Thx for the advices

You might want to check out the following:

HEXUS.net - Review :: LGA 775 CPU Cooler Mega Test : Page - 1/120

It's a comprehensive article with 25 different coolers tested and rated. The Zalman 9700 is a good cooler, but there are better options out there.
