Do you want to listen to your iPod in the car without the hassle of FM transmitters or tape adapters? Harman/Kardon recently introduced the Drive + Play, which tries to integrate your iPod into your car stereo.
The Drive + Play has three main components: an LCD, the control knob, and the main electronics enclosure (aka the "brain"). The LCD unit is a five-line text display that you mount on your dashboard or on your console area somewhere. The control knob has five buttons that mirror the functions on the iPod. The outer rim of the knob rotates, but not 360°. Instead, it rotates about a quarter-turn and then it springs back.
Ars took the Drive + Play for a long... drive. Is it as intuitive as using your iPod? Read on to find out.
