Linux.Ars returns. In this issue, we look at the release of TrollTech's QT4 and check out Meld, a graphical diff and merge utility, in our Cool App of the Week. In addition, Ryan Paul covers a new command line window management too, ruby-wmlib.
Wmctrl is immensely useful, but there are many situations where you will want to do something more complicated. Nesting lots of shell expressions can get messy, and a simple object oriented syntax would facilitate far more intuitive window management. For more advanced window manipulation, you can use ruby-wmlib, my own ruby-based window management library, based loosely on the source code of wmctrl.
With wmlib, you can take advantage of regular expressions, and many of ruby's other excellent features.
