Any developer knows that deployment is often a highly-manual process. In this edition of Linux.Ars, the crew looks at a tool  Subversion  that can make deployment from a development to production environment nearly painless.
The process is fairly painless. On the development server, I check out my website from Subversion. This, particularly when adding an existing project to Subversion, allows me to make sure that i have a complete working copy under version control. Next, I add a post-commit script on my Subversion server.
There's more, but you'll have to read on to get the goods on Subversion. In addition, we've got Tools, Tips, and Tweaks covering Synergy, an app that allows you to control multiple machines using a single keyboard and mouse, and even share a clipboard. There's also other tidbits from the week's Linux news and of course, the Cool App of the Week. Read on.
