Vista????

Ok i was thinking about buying vista and i was told that since i have alot of MP3's on my pc that it will lock the os or something, Is this true? Can someone tell me some up and downs to vista? I dont want to waste the money on it if its not going to be good! I have all the hardware for sure to run it! Just dont wanna loose my MP3's just to run the os. I have alot of time ripping cds to get them there!

I am turned away from Vista. If your a gamer I guess its more a system hog than XP.
I didnt buy XP until a year after its release. Vista is new so give it some time before you buy it.

It depends on your system. If you have a good video card (and i mean not integrated or ddr 2 based) your fine. I have core 2 and a gig of pc6400 (OCZ) and my system is decently fast. nVidia 7600GT OC BFG. In source and HL2 i get 70+ fps with everything on full. For mp3 playback its fine. If you use windows media player its going to suck on any system. But vista is fine. I have 10,000+ songs and I use iTunes and its fine. So if you have a gaming computer vista is good. In game its just as good as winxp. Just never download legal music. And if you rip music dont use wmp (windows media player) use iTunes or a third party software that doesnt create drm based crap.
