| Looks like if you want to "Play the game" next year in the benchmarking world and run with the big dogs, it's time to start saving up for a 1000$ CPU 3DMark 07 To Be Fully Quad Core Optimized Your probably going to have to use Vista too, so you will probably want to add that to your budget, looks like I am gonna need to sell a kidney next year... LOL..probably not, but it's getting damn expensive to play this game without a sponsor, and I thought "Dual Core" and SLI were killers on the wallet for 06! I am thinking by the time it's launched there will be a few more lower end quad cores from Intel (It's on the roadmap) out by then...I don't think the AMD 4x4 is gonna be a major player on this bench, maybe after they launch the regular quadcore desktop cpu's in mid to late 07 will they finally have a chance ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 14-December-06 at 11:57 PM.. | ||

If you can get through any e-penisMark run with only a little frame lag - you're future proof for at lest 3 years. That's about all I've ever figured it was a benchmark of. ![]()

Well, yes 3DMARK 06 tests Multi core and multi CPU's during the CPU test, but I am taking this as they are planning on "Simulating" games Like Unreal 2007 and Crysis wich are supposedly designed to take advantage of more than 2 cores...so I take it the "Graphics" portion of the test will run like dog crap without a quad core The best way I can explain this, is Quake 4 has a patch that shows significant gains when using a dual core cpu because it is programed to take advantage of 2 cores. However, anything over and above 2 cores goes to waste, since it was only designed software wise to take advantage of 2 cores...It would take a MAJOR rework of the code to take advantage of 4 cores. Think of a highway that is 4 lanes wide, but only two of them can ever be used at any given time, because the "Drivers" are stupid and don't recognize the other 2 lanes...lol ![]()

Im going to sick with my core 2 for a LOOOONG while.. Ive spent waaay to much time and money on this rig for it to be out dated already! LOL... Like slaymate says... Im way to poor to keep up!! Now if there was only a stand up comedy club where the OC crowd hung out... Well, I suppose I could start one up for minimal costs, I'd just need a stage, and a bunch of "Folding" chairs ![]()

Lol...I just got a 8800GTX and I can max out every setting in every game I own and still hit way over 60fps. However, 3dsuckmark06 gives me 2000 points ![]()

If your only getting 2000 pts. in 3DMark06 with a 8800GTX then your doing something seriously wrong. You should start a new thread asking for help.

Already did...you missed it ...3d06 is the only program that doesn't like me ...everything else that uses it works plenty perfectly fine.

You really need to get a Core 2 duo or a core 2 quad to take advantage of the 8800GTX. It is so cpu limited its not even funnah.

I'm very aware of the CPU bottlenecks w/ the 8800s. Regardless, my opty 175 will have to hold out till I can get a core 2 setup.

| http://forums.pcapex.com/video_cards..._problems.html This is your thread on it...did u ever install SP-2 and the AMD cpu driver? Did you set the Nvidia control panel settings to HIgh Performance? Go back to your old thread, and post some detailed pics, including your 1MB super pi time, and a link to your 3-DMark 06 score...we will pick it up from there! | ||
