| Ok, not trying to make you seem stupid, but are you sure your the admin. Cause i have installed xp a couple times when my account was set as an admin but somehow got changed to a power user or something like that. So double check your account title in the user accounts settings. Also, this is your home computer right?? | ||

| yeah daemon tools is nice...but i get errors many a time i try to use it for example.... Unable to mount image. Cue sheet: Line 1 - File not accesible and the file is there.... anyways, make sure you are the administrator of the computer. If you are then some intelligent pimprig person can help you change the policy ![]() | ||

| That seems to be a common problem with Alchohol 120%. Here is one fix: Type Regedit into the run box. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products. Search the keys for Alcohol Product ID. When you find it delete the sub-keys. Restart the installation. See if that clears it up. | ||

I cannot express my unbelievable frustration at this stupid problem and the fury of BEING the admin and never having set such a "policy". Your solution is simple, elegant, and IT WORKS! I had given up on Alcohol for a long time until now, and if not for you I'd still be mucking around in my permissions and getting nowhere but enraged. THANK YOU AGAIN | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
