There may be an easy answer to this... at least I HOPE there is.
I want to know if there is a way to fool either windows or benchmark apps to think that benchmarks can be run in a higher resolution that the hooked up monitor supports. For instance... when you have a monitor hooked up that won't do 1600x1200 and you try to run a benchmark at that resolution the program tells you that it can't. Try again and turn off the monitor... same thing.
I know it is possible to boot up the
PC hooked to a monitor that WILL do it (but leave the res set at something like 1024x768) and then turn off the monitor, and then hook up the other monitor that WON'T do 1600x1200 and then successfully run the 1600x1200 benchmarks with the monitor off. Yes, I have successfully done this many times. BUT, I want to know if there is an easier way to do it. I use a 17" Trinitron monitor that won't do 1600x1200 and I don't want to have to perform the old switcheroo or dedicate my 19" for benchmarking parts.
Any ideas? This sure would save me some time and help me keep my sanity. heheh
