| “Growl! Hiss! Hiss! Hiss! Hack! Hiss!” “Gimmie somethin’ to shoot!” “For Auir!” What do all of these lines have in common? If you couldn’t guess from the last one, don’t even consider yourself a gamer .Let me spell it out for you. S-T-A-R-C-R-A-F-T-2 That’s right, Starcraft 2. Finally! a release to that classic RTS that sucked in millions around the world, and the entire nation of Korea (or maybe just the southern half). In the words of Tycus Findley (Better known as the marine at the end of the cinematic), “Its about damn time.” The cinematic shown at the Blizzcon announcement just screams that marines will be flying out of drop ships right into your face! From what has been released thus far, there are changes that can be agreed with, and disagreed with. Primarily Protoss units have been shown so far, ranging from Colossal battle walkers, to Tempest Carriers, to even the classic Zealot… with a twist (They lunge Halo 2 sword style). They even edited some games to make the units sound more bad ass, for example “Protoss Carrier” to “Protoss Tempest”, cool huh?. All in the realm of the Protoss seems pretty damn fine, excluding the fact we are bidding farewell to Dragoons, our favorite all around unit L. But with departures are arrivals like cool Dark Templar Dragoon-type-replacement-thingies that can totally harass the crap out of our opponents with their teleportation ability. Ok, maybe they balanced it out after all. Terran and Zerg Factions haven’t really been shown off yet. Terran wise, I like what I see, I like my Siege tanks, Marines, Battle cruisers and the like. They even added “Terran Reapers” which are probably going to be more annoying that house flies (they’ve got jetpacks and can fly around). However, what I don’t like is the fact Zerglings can do this. Yeah, that’s right, they can transform into suicide bombers destroying my Magionet line of Siege Tanks, Bunkers, Marines, and such. But on the cool side, they did fix an annoyance I had with Nydus Canals. I always thought to myself, how the hell do the Zerg dig a tunnel from Nydus A, to Nydus B so damn fast, it just irked, and bewildered me (Yes, I know it’s a Sci-Fi game). However, now they’re giant Nydus Worms! Dune Style! Totally makes more sense! It’s great! I just hope Ultralisks can’t crawl through them. You may be wondering “Where’s the Harsh Criticism that He seemingly spewed out in the last Analysis?” In all honesty, I don’t have much to criticize about, from what I’ve seen it’s pretty damn good. And best of all you won’t need a super high powered PC to run it! Expect plenty of updates as new materials are released. Till next time, keep on fraggin'. | ||

| Watching a few more videos, starting to get a bit.. Unsettled. Plenty of cool things but, heres a few that rattle my cage. Terran "Thor" Essentially its a giant lumbering battle mech that turns really slow and is an uber siege tank. Its so freaking huge that you have to build it OUTSIDE OF YOUR FACTORY. This seems very reminiscent of Supreme Commander's Ultimate units. Protoss "Soul Reaper" The thing looks so damn cartoonish, it drives me freaking nuts. Its like a transformers pod with a man attached to it, which shoots green lightning. Not very SC2 like IMHO. The Single player interactions I'm also skeptical about, they're seemingly adding a sort of Fallout style RPG interaction with the other characters, though I must say the bridge of the Hyperion does look schnazzy. | ||
