Call me big headed, but I am interesting in having a theme song about myself created.

I know very little about audio editing, but I do know there is software out there that can mimmick good singing voices and even create music.

What would be good software for this? The last audio software I ever used was Audacity, and it was for very simple work.

"Reason" is the greatest music creation software that I know of. It's made by propellerhead, and it's a bit complicated, but it has tutorials embedded in it.

I my self own Acoustica but never tried editing audio only use it to make mp3 cd's.

If you want to dive in the deep end you can try Logic or Pro Tools... If you have no experience you might want to stay away from them, but if you want to learn (and use what a lot of pros use) they both are wonderful, and very powerful. I am more partial to Logic, that is what we learned and used at Stetson Uni....Crap never mind come to think of it Logic is mac only....but Pro tools is cross platform.

Adobe Audition is another good one (used to be called Cool Edit). This one is not that hard to learn, and you can produce some good music with it. If you are looking to lay down a vocal track and then add some simple MIDI instrumentation I would start there
