Default Which 19" CRT best for gaming?

I'm sure everyone has their opinion, but I'm debating between a Samsung Syncmaster, and a Viewsonic 19". The black and silver Viewsonics (P90s) I heard have crappy geometry problems...so I was thinking of the P95F. What monitor do you have, and what is your opinion on it??? I was looking for one of those Sony monitors with the widescreen, but I can't find them on newegg anymore.

I have heard nothing but fantastic things about all the StylePro monitors from Sony and I am getting one for my birthday (Oct 14th) so if you want to wait I will let you know waht I get and what I think.

My wife is picking it out and I told her either Sony or Viewsonic. We shall see what she gets.

I have the Viewsonic A90f+ black and silver. It has an incredible picture and the easiest controls I've seen while shopping for a monitor.

I haven't seen any of those geometry problems you mentioned. The picture is as good as any Sony, Mitsubishi, or Samgung I've seen.

One feature I really like is the dedicated UltraBright Mode button. One click and it raises the brightness about 20%, another click changes it back to where it was before. Very handy for those games where there are dark corners where an enemy might be hiding.

I've got an NEC AS95F at home, and I love it for gaming. I have aqlso ordered another 500 for work too. I've RMA'd 2 in 2 years - one for a broken base and one with a dim tube...pretty good track record 18" viewable, flat tube, built-in glare screen, .24 dot-pitch, it's a great monitor...

the A90F+ is the one I was looking at at bestBuy. Glad to hear it is a winner. I will drop that bug into my wife's ear.

Thanks!

I've heard that the NEC FS991 has the thin lines running across the screen for the aperature grill..which bothers some people. The FE990 doesn't have these lines, and has got good reviews. There is a picture on the above link from NewEgg

I'm not sure how good games would look on that, as far as the widescreen. For normal graphics stuff, must look awesome.
