Default More b00l$h!t from work....

So after busting ass on a survey called CROI, it's a Cingular Wireless study which is like five minutes but we have all been having little contests to see who could drop thier times the lowest, I'm winning with 3:29 , the survey ends at 10 PM, and then we go home. We are scheduled until 11. But they said we could go home an hour early. We would be paid until 10, because we clocked out at ten. So I took off, me and 40 other people left, they said we could, no harm was being done.

Well management decided to give all these people a 30-day probation slip which basically says if you screw up you're fired. What a great way to thank me for getting top production in the building, I had 21 completed surveys the next guy had 16, so anyway they pretty much screwed us in the ass, so tomorrow I'm giving management a call and asking about this.

What really bugs me is they said we could go, we signed out, and left. It's not like we were getting paid 'till 11, we ended our shift at 10, so it's not like we were wasting time. This is why I'm leaving during this 30-day period, to seek a job in the CAD industry where my 1337 CAD skills can be appreciated.

BTW, tonight we were doing a political survey on registered voters in Louisiana, we needed one more completed survey at 11 PM which is when our shift ends, to finish the project for the night, can you guess who stayed 15 minutes to finish that project for the night while everyone else left?

J-Dogg - I mean this in the nicest way possible but.. HOW STUPID ARE YOU?! Maybe I've just worked jobs where they pulled the same stunt as your company did more times than I can remember. Where I work currently - we used "clock out an hour early" or "We won't have much fish tomorrow, who wants tomorrow off" as an excuse to put them on the "call in list, that never rings". Ohh well, you don't seem like the type that'll do something else to get written up, but from a person that's delt and still deals with companies with that policy. Always take as much work as you can stomace. There are no such things as getting off early unless they name you specifically. Days off even for visits to the doctor should be scheduled over a month in advance... even if it's a weekend appointment.

Yeah gotta love it jdogg..I do phone surveys also and the management can get on your nerves...they will tell us 2 days before that everyone needs to stay till 9 this week or everyone has to work everyday...it pisses everyone off so the people that have worked there a long time just leave at their regualr shift time...atleats you dont have a 30 min cox communications survey to work on for 7 hrs a day lol

I did the UofG survey, you did not want to get stuck on that on the last 5 minutes before you got off. I was fortunate enough to not have that happen.

given how you were treated, I would write back to them a letter, but it would take balls, which I think you have.
"Dear sirs,
I'm sorry for leaving at 10 after you had informed us we should clock out at that specific hour. I did not know you would want us to work off the clock. When I showed your letter to my lawyer all she did was smile. I still dont know why, but I gave her an afidavid and the names of all my co- workers. It seems most have made some kind of appt. with her in the days to come.
I am sure that you will be called soon.
thank you,
J. Dogg"
