| If you are or know a victim of domestic violence, please see to it that they get help. My g/f who lives in Tennessee had a problem with her friend's boyfriend, who is very abusive, well to say the least he picked her up and threw her in the bathroom like you throw a football (or a 110 lb. bag of mulch) and bruised her up and busted up her lip over an argument of why her dog peed on his dog's bed. He's in the slammer now because someone got help. Tonight I want to extend a prayer to anyone who has experienced domestic violence, you should do something about it, you don't need to suffer, just call someone and get help, it's that simple. Peace pimps | ||

| I will never understand someone who is abusive like that, but I also don't understand the victim staying with the abuser. Maybe our Psych - Hoe, Anathema, can shed some light on the subject. Anyway, there are a lot of places one can get help when in a situation like that. You just have to call and ask for help. | ||

| Apex Advanced Techie | j-dogg, my prayers are defiantly with your girl friends - friend. I am glad that she got the initial help she needs and hopefully the continuing help she will need. This is a subject near to my heart for a very simple reason. That reason is one that not many men will admit to even to there own families let alone publicly over the internet. That reason is that I am a survivor of domestic violence myself. The healing and education process is continual and I am always glad to hear it when other victims get the help they need. Ho-Jo, you are right there is a psychological cycle that both the victim and the abuser go through leading up to, during, and after an abuse situation. I am not a psychologist myself and can only speak from what I have learned. That being said I would like to leave a further or more in depth explanation to those that are actually qualified. | |

| yes amen to that had I been there to see him do it, there would be some people going to jail. im not a violent person but im not afraid to stand up for what i think is right either. you just don't do stuff like that to women. it just isn't morally right. i wouldnt just totally unload on the guy i would just do wenough to detain him until police arrived. no need for overkill. | ||
